Q&A

  • What types of climbing do you offer?

    • Bouldering, which is low climbing over a thick pad. This is done without a rope and doesn't require a partner.

    • Auto belays are mechanical devices that let properly trained climbers climb tall walls (ours are up to 50' tall!) without a partner.

    • Top roping is a method used to climb tall walls using a rope attached to the top of the wall and a partner to catch falls. It is the stepping stone to the next style.

    • Lead climbing is another method used to climb tall walls. Both partners start at the bottom of the wall with the rope at the bottom. The rope is attached to intermediary protection points to arrest falls at a reasonable distance.

  • What kind of orientation is required?

    • That all depends on what you like to do. We insist that everyone coming in gets an auto belay and bouldering orientation. From there, you're free to take a top rope belay class to learn how to top rope. This class takes about an hour, so some people save it for a second or third visit. If you already know how to top rope or lead climb, you can show us your skills and pass a challenge test.

  • Do I have to be super buff?

    • Not at all! Climbing should be undertaken by healthy individuals, and you should consult with your physician if you have any concerns. Otherwise, we're happy to say that climbing can be enjoyed by a tremendous range of skill levels and abilities. If you can climb a ladder, we bet you'll find something to climb!

  •  How can my kids participate?

    • They can boulder, climb on auto belays, or top rope with you or a person 14 or older belaying. All of these options will require you to go through an orientation and supervise youth under 14.

  • Do I need any equipment?

    • Yes, most climbers use shoes, a harness, and a belay device. These and lead ropes are all included with the purchase of any day pass or membership.

  • Do I need reservations?

    • Yes, we have Day Pass Reservations available on weekdays from Noon - 5:00 pm and available on the weekends at Noon, 2:00, 4:00, and 6:00 pm.

  • Do you offer gift cards?
